BroadGate, the refurbishment of a well known former department store in Leeds, transformed into prestigious Grade A commercial and retail accommodation has won at the British Council for Offices awards.
We at SoVibrant are delighted to have been involved with the project, providing artwork within the reception and executive suites, an interior graphics scheme that runs throughout the building, selecting the 5.5m high trees within the atrium, designing breakout areas and creating an innovative viewing experience to help explain the many benefits and reveal the rich heritage of BroadGate to potential occupiers and visitors.

Broad Gate, on the Headrow in Leeds, triumphed in the best refurbished or recycled workplace category for developer Highcross.
John Forrester, head of UK and Ireland at DTZ and BCO awards chairman, said: “Once again in 2010, we have been presented with an outstanding selection of projects from which to judge the BCO’s national awards programme.
"The strength of the winners this year is evidence that, despite the economic downtown, the quality of the developments being produced in this country remains unyielding.”
BroadGate was praised by the judges for the quality of its light, the "abundance of space" and its flexible floor space.
BCO chief executive Richard Kauntze said: “We have seen some exceptional award entries this year, particularly among the regions.
"It is clear that the coming cuts in public spending will undoubtedly hit some parts of the country much harder than others, so introducing tax incentives, alternative financing options and investing in new infrastructure and technology will help to drive recovery and generate growth.”
Please see some shots above of our design work at BroadGate. It was a real pleasure to work within such well designed and inspiring Architecure.
